On 31 October, the list of seven finalists for the 2026 edition of The Car Of The Year will be announced.
The finalists will be chosen from a long list of 36 models that have been submitted this year and that meet the jury's requirements to be candidates for the grand final in Brussels next January.
The vehicles competing for a place on the shortlist feature all kinds of technologies, platforms and designs, making the jury's final decision more difficult than ever. Some brands are competing with more than one model, such as Audi, Citroën, BYD, Toyota, MG and Leapmotor.
The members of The Car Of The Year jury must submit their seven favourite models. The list of the seven vehicles nominated for the final will be drawn up from the count of all the votes.
