Mercedes-Benz A-Class

21/01/2019 - Car of The year

Mercedes-Benz A-Class is one of the seven nominees for Car of the Year 2019 award, alongside Alpine A110, Citroën C5 Aircross, Ford Focus, Jaguar I-Pace, Kia Ceed and Peugeot 508. Let’s know something else about the German compact car.

The A-class badge has been around for 20 years, but it was in 2012 when the Mercedes model blossomed from a technically ground-breaking mini-MPV into an appealing premium hatchback. The A-class was since an iceberg tip for a new generation of ‘compact models’ with diversity to fit all kind of younger customers, adding volume to Mercedes exclusivity. The new stylish A, to be followed by even more diverse derivatives with different names and the same, new platform, improves over its predecessor in almost every practical aspect, as access to rear seats, room and luggage space. The cabin looks meet the premium promises; and the dual displays for digital instruments and a central touchscreen, offer a feel of quality and the functionality of its infotainment and connectivity MBUX system. The downsized 1.33 petrol engine is an interesting joint venture product for good use in several Renaults and Nissans too.
