Jaguar I-Pace

21/12/2018 - Car of The year

Jaguar I-PACE is one of the seven nominees for Car of the Year 2019 award, alongside Alpine A110, Citroën C5 Aircross, Ford Focus, Kia Ceed, Mercedes-Benz A-class and Peugeot 508. Let’s know something else about the British SUV car.

Current SUV fever, next electric-car rush. Jaguar has quickly responded to both automotive trends with its I-Pace, a 4.68 m. vehicle sat on a new platform devised for all-electric cars, a new breed which will deliver in dynamics, room, luxury and zero-emissions. There might be lesser-motored I-Pace versions in a future, but the new Jaguar is so far a 400-hp car with acceleration suitable for a sports car; 0-100 km/h is announced in 4,8 s. An electric motor in each axle means a 4-wheel drive system applying variable doses of torque. The battery pack, flat and low between the front and rear axle, offers good weight distribution and low centre of gravity, as well as a capacity of 90 kWh; on the new WLTP cycle, less unrealistic than the previous one, that means a range of 480 km. Sporty performance and handling are assured. An ample, quality cabin with a lot of equipment and a 650-liter boot provide comfort, safety and practicality.
