Three new members in Car of the Year Jury

The Jury for Car of the Year 2018 award welcomes three new members, doubling the presence of female motoring journalists as jurors.

The recent annual General Assembly of Car of the Year Jury recorded the appointment of three new members for the next edition of the award, CotY 2018.

Birgit Priemer, an experienced staffer in ‘auto motor und sport’ magazine as she entered the prominent publication in 1992, is a skilled and respected professional in car testing and assessment. Since 2005 she’s a deputy editor-in-chief of the German mag. She succeeds in the Jury Georg Kacher, a prestigious freelance motoring writer who has had a fruitful membership in CotY for 27 years.

From Spain comes Pedro Martín, 49, who replaces Alberto Mallo, another outstanding specialist with 26 years in the Jury. Mr. Martín has studied journalism in Madrid University and has been a motoring writer since 1988 in different publications. He was promoted to deputy editor of ‘Motor16’ in 2007.

Susanne Hofbauer, 51, from Austria, is the new editor-in-chief of ‘Autorevue’ magazine where she started in 1997 after different jobs in several publications, including ‘Motorrad Magazine’. Besides her wealth of motoring knowledge, Ms. Hofbauer has a degree in translation/interpretation in English and Spanish languages.
