The fourth generation of Citroën C3 is born as a revolutionary car, because to succeed the previous model in the French brand have created a body of 4.01 meters long, 1.76 wide and 1.57 high halfway between utility and SUV, and seated on the modern Smart Car platform, which will lead to this and other models of Stellantis in its factory in Trnava, Slovakia. For example, the ground clearance is more generous than in other B-segment models: 163 millimeters.
A five-seater car with a 310-liter trunk that stands out for its original and simple interior design, where the conventional instrumentation is replaced by a Head-up Display that projects the information on a dark strip at the foot of the windshield. And in the top versions, the dashboard has a 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment display. On the other hand, the basic version incorporates the My Citroën Play with Smartphone Station, which allows access to music, radio, phone or navigation from our own smartphone. And the C3 boasts comfort, as it equips Citroën Advanced Comfort seats and suspension with progressive hydraulic dampers already used larger cars of the French brand.
As for the available mechanics, there are three propulsion alternatives: gasoline, gasoline with MHEV hybridization and pure electric. In the first case, the engine is a 1.2 three-cylinder with 100 hp and average consumption of 5.6 l/100 km, while the second, which will arrive later, is also a 1.2 three-cylinder 100 hp, but with Mild Hybrid system to reduce costs and emissions.
As for the electric ë-C3, the first version has been launched that combines the 83 kW (113 hp) motor with a 44 kWh gross LFP battery (42.7 kWh useful) that has an average WLTP range of 320 km and can be charged in direct current at 100 kW, to go from 20% to 80% in 26 minutes. And in domestic recharging, the time is four hours and 10 minutes with a power of 7 kW, or only two hours and 50 minutes if we charge at 11 kW power. This version accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 11 seconds and has a self-limited top speed of 135 km/h, and in 2025 a ë-C3 with a small battery and an average range of 200 km will arrive, which could be launched in most markets at a price of 19,990 euros.
Users of the ë-C3 who choose the Connect Plus option will benefit from a set of new specific tools, such as the Citroën e-Routes application, which allows you to plan more efficient routes with an electric car or monitor the battery level and charging network data in real time. Or the e-remote service, which allows owners to use the MyCitroën app as a remote control for their ë-C3 to condition the interior temperature before entering the car, manage charging schedules, monitor charging status and display the vehicle's location.
And although the new C3 is a car with a functional and very economical approach, it does not forgo highly advanced assistance and safety systems (ADAS), such as active safety braking, operational both day and night at speeds between 5 and 135 km/h (3 and 135 mph). It also offers warning of involuntary change of face active, driver attention alert, recognition d speed limits, electric parking brake, intelligent dipped headlights and rear parking sensors.
