Citroën C5 Aircross

10/12/2018 - Car of The year

Citroën C5 Aircross is one of the seven nominees for Car of the Year 2019 award, alongside Alpine A110, Ford Focus, Jaguar I-Pace, Kia Ceed, Mercedes-Benz A-class and Peugeot 508. Let’s know something else about the French SUV car.

Citroën has taken its time to enter the successful SUV segment with a modern product, but this big brother of the C3 Aircross, with very similar aesthetics, fills the role properly. There won’t a four-wheel drive C5 Aircross in a near future, but the car has an unusually big ground clearance for an average crossover. This trait fits with the very long wheel travel in its suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions, short of a hydropneumatic system to serve the legendary ‘flying carpet ride’. The new Citroën, as a true family car, offers an excellent packaging, with ample space in the cabin, generous boot and cosy seats. Not unexpected in a MPV specialist, the rear row has three independent seats of equal width, each of them will be adjustable. Till the arrival of a future PHEV, the engine range follows the reasonable PSA petrol and diesel offer, with power between 130 and 180 hp.
