Skoda had carved a sizeable niche with the Superb, and the new one, much better in every aspect, will likely enlarge it. Engine is transversal now, what amounts to a giant longitudinal roominess. Rear occupants have knee room as in a limousine, what is a bit weird. Not that luggage area has been neglected: in top of a wide boot, Superb has two modes of accessing it: through a brief tail lid or opening a big hatch. Quality at a price and good equipment come also with nice switchgear and seats. The chassis of VW origin with multilink rear suspension gives a good ride and safe road behaviour. Superb inherits good engines from the group, also a non-common rail Diesel with less refinement than current ones.
