Citroën completes its DS-line with the appealing DS5, the most sucessful one of the three models in the task of evoking the spirit of distinction and originality of the famed ID/DS cars of the ‘50s. The complexity of its exterior shape, with a roof line descending in the rear that reminisces its ancestor, might point to a sporty wagon. The rich and roomy cabin has an aerial feel, with the roof console, door panel and tall centre console wrapping the driver. Fit and finish look upmarket. Rear hatch opens to an ample boot. The 1.6 THP petrol engines put performance levels according to the premium approach. The 2-liter diesel also gives lots of torque and is the basis for the interesting –and costly- 4X4 Hybrid version, served by a 6-gear automatic transmission.
